Overview

Cold-climate heat pumps and mini splits are efficient and flexible, but only when they are sized, placed, and commissioned correctly. Done wrong, they short-cycle, ice up, run loud, or fall short on the coldest days.

We design single-zone and multi-zone systems for new builds, additions, and electrification retrofits, with wall, cassette, and ducted heads matched to each space. Every system is commissioned so it holds setpoint from summer cooling to a design-day heating load.

What we deliver

Scope of the service

01

Load-based zoning

Head count and capacity set by each room’s calculated load, not by the number of outlets.

02

Cold-climate equipment

Systems selected to hold capacity at New England design temperatures.

03

Head placement

Wall, cassette, or ducted units placed for even, quiet distribution.

04

Refrigerant & electrical

Line sizing, brazing, and electrical to code and manufacturer spec.

05

Commissioning

Charge verified, airflow set, and each zone tested to setpoint.

How we approach it

Designed by calculation, documented for sign-off.

Size

Sized per zone

Capacity is set room by room, so a multi-zone system is not one oversized outdoor unit fighting itself.

Place

Placed for even comfort

Head location is chosen for distribution and noise, not just for the easiest run.

Commission

Commissioned to spec

Charge and airflow are verified on startup, so the rated efficiency is what you actually get.

Questions

Common questions

Will a heat pump hold capacity through a New England winter?

Yes, when it is sized and commissioned right. We select cold-climate equipment rated to hold capacity at New England design temperatures.

Single-zone or multi-zone?

Both. Head count and capacity are set by the calculated load of each room, not by the number of outlets.

Do you commission the system?

Yes. Charge verified, airflow set, and each zone tested to setpoint on startup.
